The Red Barn Community Music Series in cooperation with KCBX Public Radio and the Live Oak Music Festival will present the acoustic American roots music of Yo Pitzy Jug Band at a special New Years Party on Saturday December 31 at the Red Barn at South Bay Community Park in Los Osos.
With a foundation of two brothers and a son, Yo Pitzy Jug Band farms family tradition by playing traditional string band music. Songs about family, adventure and freight trains run through the band's repertoire with the emphasis on simple, early string band tunes played on guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, bass fiddle, harmonica, jugs, washboard, kazoo, and anything else they can get their hands on. Yo Pitzy combines traditional songs with original pieces in an authentic jug band sound. Band members Dan, Jonas and Seth Richardson form the core of the band, along with Gary Arcemont who adds his amazing Cajun-style fiddle.
The Red Barn Community Music Series is a monthly concert series showcasing local, regional, and national musicians performing old time, bluegrass, swing, Celtic, blues, and other forms of acoustic roots music. The Red Barn is located at 2180 Palisades Ave in Los Osos. The pot luck supper and pot luck band starts at 5:00 PM., and the show begins at 6:00 PM.
