Kids at PARKFIELD!

Kids come to Parkfield Festival free with their paying adults...and Parkfield has plenty to offer smart and lively kiddoes.  It's pretty fun to camp and rough it, wake up with the roosters crowing and the cows all around.  Parkfield has an Old Yeller dog who loves to play catch with a tennis ball.  Gord might organize a pretty big water fight if it gets hot, and Ed makes homemade ice cream each night.  Chris and her friends from Lompoc invite all the kids to come over to the Community Center Saturday at noon to make a special present for their moms.  This year we hear the present will include a framed photo of each kid artist.

Kids can also get involved with the music in programs made just for them.  Kids, be sure to bring your bluegrass instruments to Parkfield!  Friday evening is Bluegrass Music Camp Sneak Preview.  Gerry and the band Whiskey Chimp will show and tell their bluegrass instruments and voices.  And Gerry will tell about singing and instrument classes the kids can attend on Saturday and Sunday.  (The kids get to show off what they learned in a stage program on Sunday.)  For the younger kids, Anne and Charlie hold a just-before-bed singalong on Saturday night.

Kids and their parents who plan to attend Parkfield can find out about the Bluegrass Camp songs even before the festival. Just visit the festival website (www.parkfieldbluegrass.com), click "Kids Programs" and then click "Gerry Higbie's Tablature site".
Gerry and his helpers are working on tablature for this year's songs (Turkey in the Straw and You Are My Sunshine) now. They should be available for you online to print and practice later this month.

Sponsors and Patrons

BMSCC is always looking for sponsors, who place advertisements in our festival programs and patrons, who make tax deductible contributions to our organization. Do you know an individual, organization or company that might be interested in expanding their exposure?  Do you know of a company or individual who might want to make a gift to BMSCC?  If so, then why not let them know about our mission and us?  You don't have to directly ask them (although it would be nice if you discussed the idea a little with them), simply let me know and I'll make contact.  Please contact Craig Kincaid (craig@craigkincaid.com
) for further info.
