| Summary of upcoming bluegrass events: 7/5/08 (Sat.) -- SANTA BARBARA, The Salt Martians will be at the Cold Spring Tavern from 2 - 5 PM, followed by the Excellent Tradesmen. No cover! 7/11/08 (Fri.) -- SANTA MARIA, an Evening With The Grascals. A special benefit for the St. Louis de Montfort Church & School building fund. SLDMC Parish Hall, 5075 Harp Road (corner of Clark Ave & Harp Rd). 6:00 PM Dinner Show $35 which includes a Santa Maria Style BBQ TriTip dinner and show (family style dinner prepared and served by members of the Knights of Columbus Chapter 11137 at SLDMC). TriTip cooked on site over an oak wood fire pit. It doesnt get any better than that. Followed by an 8:30 PM Evening Concert $20. These two great shows are presented by the Knights of Columbus and the Bluegrass Music Society of the Central Coast. Cal Orchid Nursery, 1251 Orchid Drive, Noleta, CA (between SB and Goleta) 7/16/08 (Wed.) -- PASO ROBLES. at Monteleone's Rock (newly opened at 1331-A Vendels Circle, behind the Firestone Brewery), renown fiddler Megan Lynch and banjoist Bill Evans will pair up to showcase their exquisite bluegrass talents. Los Carneros Road, from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. Free! Bring your picnic blanket or lawn chairs and join them for a summer evening of bluegrass! 8/8/08 -- 8/10/08 (Fri. thru Sun.) -- HOLLISTER, the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival presented by the Northern California Bluegrass Society will be held at Bolado Park near Tres Pinos and features all California bands, and plenty of jamming. See for details. 8/22/08 thru 8/24/08 (Fri.- Sun.) -- VISTA, at the 40-acre Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum, 2040 N. Santa Fe Ave., the San Diego Bluegrass Society and North County Bluegrass & Folk Club present their annual Summergrass Festival. A dozen terrific bands will appear on stage, to include nationally acclaimed groups like The Infamous Stringdusters, Don Rigsby & Midnight Call, Bluegrass Etc.,Chris Stuart & Backcountry, Sawmill Road, and Burnett Family Bluegrass. SANTA BARBARA: Monthly jam at Tucker's Grove County Park, 2nd Sunday, starting at 12 noon until whenever....The park is accessed by taking Turnpike exit east (toward mountains) off of Hwy 101; entering park where Turnpike meets Cathedral Oaks; and continuing to the right until reaching Kiwanis Meadow (some nine speed bumps from park entrance).
