Central Coast Bluegrass Music Calendar, updated 5/2/09
If BMSCC sends you something in early May, you can probably guess: Yes, its a quick reminder about the annual Mothers Day Weekend Bluegrass Festival in Parkfield.

But this time, a bonus:

Tonight in Los Osos you can preview Parkfields fabulous line-up by seeing the incomparable WHISKEY CHIMP septet at the Red Barn, in South Bay Community Park. Thats 7:00 PM, at 2180 Palisades Ave., with optional potluck dinner starting at 6:00 PM. Cost is a mere pittance, $10 donation requested at the door.

Featuring tight four-part harmonies and blazing instrumental prowess, The Chimp, as they are affectionately known by their fans, always leave their audiences clamoring for more. Within the scope of an evening concert, Whiskey Chimp is bound to take its audience on a genre-bending rollercoaster of musical emotions. [Quoting liberally -- and truthfully! -- from WCs press release.]

Further bonus:

Tomorrow, May 3, is first-Sunday-of-the-month bluegrass day again at the Santa Maria Brewing Company, in Nipomo. Our long-time favorites and opening band for Parkfield, the WILD RIVER RAMBLERS, will perform from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Its very important to support this venue with your attendance -- and consumption of Brewmaster Dan Hilkers delectable microbrews! because WRRs gig can continue only if attendance remains robust. So do you part, enjoy a SMB beer or two, and get a preview of next weeks Parkfield Festival talent tomorrow at 2:00 PM.

And, now, breaking Parkfield news:

PARKFIELD FLASHES

Electrical hook-ups will be available as of Thursday noon, but are allotted by reservation only. Looks like everyone on the waiting list to this point will get a hook-up, but we cant say for sure until Monday. Some water hook-ups are available, on a first-come, first-served basis however, Parkfield has neither sewage hook-ups nor dump station.

The renown Parkfield Caf -- newly remodeled, expanded, and renamed The Grill at V6 Ranch Resort -- will be open every day this week for lunch and dinner, and will offer breakfast on Fri/Sat/Sun.
